Shelia Faye Madison

Shelia Faye Madison was born in Marting, West Virginia on October 9, 1946 to the late Bert and Margaret Tackett. She had two brothers; Bert Harry “BH” Tackett Jr. and the late Robert Stanley “Buddy” Tackett. Shelia married her husband of 55 years, Dr. Roland L. Madison, at eighteen years of age on July 31, 1965. Shelia graduated with Honors from Morris Harvey College in 1972. She worked as an elementary school teacher for eight years, as well as a Sunday school teacher at Campbell Memorial Baptist Church in Smithers, West Virginia. Shelia had two daughters, Kimberly Ann McAndrews (m. Michael McAndrews), and Amy Elizabeth Harwood-McCartney (m. Anthony Harwood, Justin McCartney). Shelia had five grandchildren, Christopher McAndrews, Caleb McCartney, Abigail Harwood, Taylor McAndrews, and Brandon McAndrews.
Shelia worked to put her husband through graduate school and then spent her life raising her children, and later enjoyed being a Grandmother. She spent her time reading, cross stitching, crocheting beautiful blankets, playing Rummy amongst other games with the family, watching Judge Judy, and beating everyone at Jeopardy. Shelia passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her family on October 26, 2020 at the age of 74. She leaves behind a family that will love and miss her always. Private services were held at her family home on Sunday, November 1, 2020.
