REVEREND HERBERT EUGENE BORCHELT, former Pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, Solon. Beloved husband of Mary (nee Alpers) married June 13, 1958; dear father of Dr. Mark (Nancy), of FL, Michael (Kelly), of TX, Katherine (Steven) Somes of Kirtland, and the late James; loving grandfather of Hannah, Luke, Andrew, Matthew, Daniel, Brian, Michael, and Karen. Memorial Services Sunday May 31, 2PM at Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, 7196 S.O.M. Center Rd., Solon, 44139, where family will visit with friends ONE HOUR PRIOR AND IMMEDIATELY FOLLOWING SERVICES. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, or Hospice of the Western Reserve.

 

Herbert Eugene Borchelt was born in Ft. Wayne, IN on October 8, 1933, where he attended Concordia Lutheran High School. He was a 1958 graduate of St. Louis Concordia Seminary. After five years at Holy Cross Lutheran in Carlisle, Iowa, he accepted the call to move to Solon and served for 30 years prior to his retirement in 2003.
