Mary leaves behind her loving husband of 56 years Bob Jonas, who will never forget the life and love they shared, and the woman he loved so dearly. “We met in Southgate, Michigan on a Saturday night. We danced to the music of Satin Doll. From then on, she became my Satin Doll. The bond between us grew stronger every year. We married in 1966 and a fantastic life’s journey began.”
Mary loved her children and would fight for them. She would walk miles to get help for her daughter Pamela. There was never a more protective mother than Mary.
Mary loved to have fun. She loved the slots and would do a magic hand wave over the machine and damnit she would win.
Mary was an active partner with husband Bob and longtime friends Dottie and Ken Snyder, and helped form a company of great people at W.P. Hickman Systems. Mary’s inner strength and advice served Bob well. Little things were important to Mary. She would receive so many compliments on her nails and hair. People would ask; Are they real?, and she would smile and say, “They’re real and they’re mine.” Mary was a gracious hostess who knew how to make people feel welcome. If you met Mary, you liked Mary. Mary was Bob’s Lover, Soulmate, Friend, Confidant, Advisor and Inner Strength. Each night when we laid down we would say “I love you.” She was Little Sugar and I was Big Sugar. Knowing she was next to me was so good. She watched over me and I watched over her. There could be no better feeling.
