Mary Ann Mangano
MARY ANN MANGANO, of Solon OH, died at the age of 74, after a prolonged fight with cancer, on Wednesday, January 25th 2017, surrounded by her family. Mary Ann was born on December 10th, 1942 in New Hartford, NY, to Edward F. and Jewell Cheney (Durkin). She was a cheerleader at New Hartford Sr. High School, where she graduated with the class of 1960. She graduated from St. Elizabeth Hospital School of Nursing in 1963 and was awarded her nursing license in 1964. Mary Ann was married to Francis Mangano on April 15th, 1965. She raised a family on the move across several states. She supported her children in the web of extracurricular activities they were involved in. Family was always her main focus. She enjoyed sharing the Adirondacks, particularly Old Forge, NY, with her family on vacations. She was an avid reader, a duplicate bridge player, and an accomplished cook. She was naturally gregarious and always willing to strike up a conversation with a smile and a sense of humor. She loved making her friends and family laugh. She is survived by her grieving family: her brother, Edward Cheney; her husband, Francis Mangano; her children, Martin (Gina) Mangano, Margaret (Howard) Cleveland, Amy Mangano (Paul Shovlin), and Joseph Mangano; and her grandchildren, Anna, Owen, Sean, Sidney, and Dario. Many other friends and extended family also grieve her passing. Family will visit with friends at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 PM MONDAY JANUARY 30. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday January 31, 10AM at St. Rita Church, 32820 Baldwin Rd., Solon. Interment All Saints Cemetery, Northfield.
