Julianna Sanda
Julianna Eleanor Martin Sanda- October 13, 1931-February 8, 2020
An obituary filled with the details of her life doesn’t seem like the thing that Mom would want. Yes, she would want you to know about her family… Her husband Bob, her kids Tony, Tom, Bob, Sally and her amazing husband Ryan are all well and living in Ohio. She would want you to know that her granddaughter Samantha is a recent graduate of THE Ohio State University and that Nathan, her grandson, is a husband to Anayeli and daddy to her great-granddaughter, Isabella. She’d tell you of her sister, Sister Mary Louise Martin, who went before her to serve Her Lord. She’d start to giggle as she spoke of her favorite brother Billy and his wife Sharon who live in Simi Valley, CA. They were the best of friends. Her sister-in-law, Dorothy and Dick Hardesty, have been a constant in their lives and she was more and more grateful for the phone check-ins throughout the recent years. And even though miles separated them, there were many cousins that Poozy would want you to get to know because laughter and love defined their relationship. She would not shy away from the fact that she had been taking care of Bobby, her husband of 6 decades, due to his blindness. It took a toll on her but if asked, she would lovingly do it again because of their commitment to each other.
She’d want you to know that she absolutely loved living and teaching in Solon. Mrs. Sanda would fondly look back at the kids she taught and share stories from the classroom at Roxbury Elementary School. After she retired, she volunteered at the Historical Society, sharing with children about her love of the area. As a matter of fact, instead of flowers or having a drink of Seagrams 7 on St. Patrick’s Day, would you consider donating to the Solon Historical Society? Donations can be made in her name and sent to 33975 Bainbridge Rd. Solon, Ohio 44139 Yes, this is the obituary she would have loved. She was simply The Best. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday February 14, 10:30AM at St. Rita Church, 32820 Baldwin Rd., Solon.
