John “Jack” Philip Haslinger

JOHN PHILIP HASLINGER, AKA “Jack” of Aurora, 85, passed away peacefully in the arms of his beloved bride Judith Angela Haslinger on May 15, 2023.
Jack was born on August 15, 1937, to the late Servillian and Matilda Haslinger in Fremont Ohio. In 1955, Jack graduated from St. Joseph High School in Fremont Ohio. Jack was a patriot; he honored his country in the United States Army where he faithfully served for 3 years overseas.
Jack then became employed by Shell Oil Company where he quickly rose the ranks due to his outstanding integrity and tireless work ethic. Haslinger received countless promotions, awards, and accolades throughout his career at Shell.
On July 21, 1962, Jack married his beautiful and devoted wife Judith (formerly Fiala) at Immaculate Conception in Bellevue Ohio. The steadfast couple celebrated 60 years of marital bliss and they conceived 3 wonderful children Kimberly Sue, Connie Jean, and John Phillip. The family is close-knit and has lived a loving and charmed life together.
Jack and his family are devout Catholics and faithfully serve their church and community. Jack and his wife have been extremely involved in their church at St. Rita’s in Solon Ohio. Jack and Judy had the privilege of serving as Eucharistic Ministers and have thoughtfully contributed to charity and volunteerism in their parishes and their children’s and grandchildren’s Catholic schools.
Jack and his family enjoyed much of their lives living on multiple lakes, enjoying sunrises, skiing, and boating. Jack and Judy became avid “adventure seekers” traveling the world with their beloved brother and sister Jim and Maryann Haslinger. The couples boasted many adventures including surviving hurricane Mitch in 1998 in Central America. Jack and Judy loved to scuba dive, and they prided themselves with over 700 dives together in countless venues.
The couple’s second home was in Bonaire, where they enjoyed many sunsets on the beaches with countless friends. Jack and Judy were so beloved by the people of Bonaire, they were named “Ambassadors of Goodwill.”
Jack lived his life with fierce passion. He was strong, wise, and extremely charismatic. Jack was exceedingly generous and was loving and loyal to all. Jack knew the meaning of duty, commitment, and responsibility. He was a true-blue man; Jack will forever be named the Patriarch of the Haslinger family.
Jack was predeceased by Servillian and Matilda Haslinger, James Haslinger, and Holly Haslinger. Jack is survived by his beloved wife Judith; loving daughters Kimberly Roe, Connie (Robert) Lewandowski; devoted son John (Nicole) Haslinger; cherished grandfather to Brittany (Vince), Christian (Brooke), Brianna (James), Robby, Olivia, Nick, Johnny, Mallory, Noah, and Chayce; dear brother to Maryann (Jim) McCormick, Kenneth (Cindy) Haslinger, Barry (Phyllis), Gloria (Rich), Myra (Ron)(Steve); dear uncle to Kelly, Debbie, Eric, Cheryl, Carla, Tony, Troy, Sharon, Dottie, Brenda, Ted, Jessica, Bruce, Brad, Doug, Aaron, Adam, Crystal, Tammy, and Bridgette; and friend to many.
Family will visit with friends at Steinbauer Funeral Home, 33375 Bainbridge Road, Solon, from 5:30-8PM Monday, May 22. Mass of Christian Burial Tuesday, May 23, 10AM at St. Rita Church, 32820 Baldwin Rd., Solon. Interment Aurora Cemetery. Donations to be accepted for Wounded Warrior Project.
