Jo Ann Dorner

Jo Ann Dorner, (nee Rollo), born April 3, 1936, a long-time resident of Aurora, passed away on July 27, 2020. Beloved mother of Barbara (Dewey) DeWitt, Andrew A. Dorner, Gottfried F. (Janet Groves) Dorner, Jr., and Heidi (Brett) Liston. Loving grandmother of Jeffrey (Jennifer) DeWitt, Timothy (fiance Alicia Fields) DeWitt, Sarah (Scott) McElroy, Justin (Aimee) DeWitt, Courtney Dorner, Carissa Dorner, Hunter Dorner, Jessica Dorner, Melissa (fiance Bryan Burrows) Dorner, Joshua (fiance Camy Clark) Florack, and Kelsey Liston. Great-grandmother of Eleana, Anya, Nicholas and Eleanor DeWitt. She is survived by former husband Gottfried F. Dorner, Sr., and sister Judith Felt of North Carolina. She was preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Mary Rollo, sister Patricia Johns and brother Edward Rollo. She devoted her life to raising her four children and caring for various family members. Once her children were grown, she attended college and fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. For ten years, she worked at Aurora Manor and was known as a dedicated and compassionate caregiver. Upon retirement, she volunteered her nursing services for Portage County. A private Mass of Christian burial will take place at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Catholic Church in Aurora on Saturday, August 1, 2020. Due to COVID-19 concerns, the funeral will be limited to immediate family members. A Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
