Jane Eileen Burns

Jane Eileen Burns (nee Miller), of Aurora, went to be with Our Heavenly Father on August 16, 2023. Jane was born May 5, 1929 to Harold and Alice Miller in New Castle, PA. When she moved to Aurora in the 1930’s, she became the third generation to live in Aurora. Jane graduated from Aurora High School and Kent State University. She was a teacher, and later enjoyed the opportunity to be able to stay home with her children. Jane enjoyed gardening, volunteering, hosting events, reading, camping, and puzzles. She enjoyed the family’s annual vacations and the chance to have visited all fifty states.
Jane married the love of her life, Edmond James (Jim) Burns August 20, 1950. The two raised their four children: Deborah Conti, Thomas Burns, Linda Brogan, and Vickie (Evan) Webster, all of Aurora. Jane has nine grandchildren, and four great grandchildren (who are the 6th generation in Aurora), and many nieces and nephews. Janes siblings include: her sister Donna Mattmuller, and three brothers that preceded her in death, Wallace, Russell, and John Miller. She was also preceded in death by her husband Jim in 2004.
Jane was a very gentle, kind, and caring person who was also positive and supportive, and saw the good in everyone; she will be greatly missed by all. She was affiliated with the Church In Aurora, Eastern Star, Aurora Historical Society, Aurora Garden Club, Chagrin Valley Little Theater, and Book Club.
Jane Eileen Burns’ life will be celebrated Saturday October 14, 1PM at the Church In Aurora, 146 S. Chillicothe Rd., where family will visit with friends one hour prior to services from 12 PM – 1PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Aurora Firefighters Association (501c3), 65 W. Pioneer Trail, Aurora, OH 44202.
