Irene P. Markiewicz

Irene Pearl Markiewicz, born Irene Pearl Everiss on February 18, 1931, peacefully passed away on August 7, 2023, at the age of 92. She was a proud wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Irene was known for her loving and loyal personality, as well as her patient and kind nature. She was an expert seamstress, dedicating more than 20 years of her life working for Joann Fabric. Irene also had a passion for collecting dolls and tea sets. She cherished the time spent with her close family and friends during beach vacations to Sea Girt, New Jersey.

Irene is survived by her beloved husband, Joseph Markiewicz, and their three children Joseph Markiewicz Jr. (Kathy), Teresa Blagdon (Doug), and Susan Glander (Doug). She also leaves behind 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, all of whom will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

A visitation for family and friends will take place on Thursday, August 10, from 4 – 7 p.m. at Kindrich-McHugh Steinbauer Funeral Home located at 33375 Bainbridge Road, Solon. A funeral mass will be held on Friday, August 11, at 11 a.m. at SS. Cosmas & Damian Parish, located at 10419 Ravenna Road, Twinsburg.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in her memory to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
