Dr. William Louis Schultz
WILLIAM LOUIS SCHULTZ, Ph.D.,P.E., of Solon formerly of Beachwood, OH. January 27, 1942 – July 11, 2018. Beloved husband of Marilyn A. (nee Giesel); loving father of Kimberly A. (Harold) Miller and David W. (Laura) Schultz; cherished grandfather of Alex and Evelyn; dear brother of Janet (Larry) Shafer and Joyce Peacock. Funeral Services: Saturday, July 14, 3:00PM at Pioneer Memorial Presbyterian Church, 35100 Solon Rd., Solon, where family will visit with friends FROM 1-3PM PRIOR TO SERVICES AT CHURCH ON SATURDAY. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Pioneer Presbyterian Church.
Bill Schultz was born in Oak Park, IL on January 27, 1942 to Alfred William Schultz and Ruth H. Jarmusch. He graduated from Case Institute of Technology in 1964. He married Marilyn Ann Giesel on August 21, 1965. Bill continued his studies and earned a Master’s degree in 1967 and eventually earned a Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering at Case Western Reserve University in 1979. He was an adjunct professor at CWRU and often taught Senior Projects and also mentored students from all over the world. His love for mentorship was only trumped by his love for the Lord and his family.
Bill was involved in many groups, but especially the Institute of Electrical and Electronic Engineers (IEEE), Lake Erie Amateur Radio Association (LEARA): call sign “AC8CO”, and Society of Naval Architects and Marine Engineers (SNAME).
