Donald R. Wieland Sr., born on November 5, 1929, passed away on December 10, 2020 at the age of 91. Don, beloved husband to Elizabeth (deceased) and devoted father to Don, Jr. had a large family that he loved deeply. He was a cherished grandpa to Trey and Ryder and throughout his life touched the lives of many family and friends. Don’s charm and personality spread wide. If you asked Don he would tell you the best things in life are the people you love, the places you’ve been and the memories you’ve made along the way. He lived his life by this motto. He cherished the friendships he made in Cleveland and Michigan as well as around the world through his extraordinary career in sports films, as a park naturalist, an educator and a volunteer hunter safety instructor for over 30 years. In his free time he enjoyed spending time in the woods, fishing, and summers at his lake house in Michigan. His greatest joy was spending time with his son and grandkids sharing the passion he had for the great outdoors and his love for life. His determination, great storytelling ability and zest for life is irreplaceable. He will be forever and sorely missed.
