Donald Barry Winovich
D. Barry Winovich, of Chagrin Falls. May 9, 1966 – July 16, 2017. Survived by his loving family; spouse Kelley (nee Latore); cherished father of Katie, Charles, and William; loving son of Donald and Helen Faye (nee Eller); dear brother of Brian (Camerin), Danica Chapic, and the late Robert (Bobby); uncle, friend and colleague to many; and devoted caregiver, Patty Herdman. Barry’s love of music and life combined with his drive to cure ALS inspired many to support the cause and The Bright Side of the Road Foundation. Mass of Christian Burial Friday July 21, 10 AM at Holy Angels Church, 18205 S. Chillicothe Rd., Bainbridge Twp., where family will visit with friends FROM 2-7 PM THURSDAY AND ONE HOUR PRIOR TO MASS FRIDAY. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to The D. Barry Winovich Family Education Trust, C/O any Key Bank Branch. Barry was born in Pittsburgh and lived in Chagrin Falls since his sophomore year in high school. He graduated from Ohio State University and worked for Genworth Financial until his diagnosis with Lou Gehrig’s Disease in 2008 prohibited him from working further. He helped to raise over 2 million with the Cleveland Clinic which created an endowed chair to ensure the funds remain in perpetuity for ALS research. Throughout his life his unquestioned passion for family, music, and life was insurmountable to your typical soul. Barry lived a life walking upon the bright side of the road. His drive to not only live, but to LIVE was something only found one in a billion.
