Dennis William Hagestrom

Dennis William Hagestrom – Age 83, born June 12, 1940, passed away July 3, 2023.
Dennis was born and raised in the Tillamook, Oregon area and moved across country to Cleveland, Ohio in 1959 with his high school sweetheart and wife, Judy to pursue a career in court reporting and raise their family. Dennis and Judy divided their retirement time between Solon, Ohio and Carolina Beach, North Carolina so that they could spend more time with their children, grandchildren and friends. Their true passion together was raising their five children. Court reporting was Denny’s next passion. He was a leader, teacher and pioneer of the reporting profession, earning and winning many awards, including retiring the Ohio Cup as a three-time champion (renamed the Hagestrom Cup in 1999).
Dennis loved reading, traveling, fishing, Cleveland sports, singing, dancing, Qwirkle, collecting comic books and coins, wearing crazy hats, cookies and of course Judy’s frosting…but above all his family. He will be missed dearly and leaves each of his family and countless friends filled with memories of his endless teasing, stories, and jokes.
Dennis was preceded in death by his parents Bill and Laverne Hagestrom and grandson Cody Wuertz. He is survived by his loving wife of 64 years, Judy (nee Ottaway); sister Gayle Dyer; five children… Denise Hagestrom, Dawn Fade (Paul), DeAnna Dunn (Ted), Deana Fresenko (Jerry), and Duke Hagestrom (Tracee); thirteen grandchildren… Bruce May (Lindsey), Stephen Fade (Karsten), Nicholas Fresenko (Lindsey), Jessica Prestifilippo (Tony), Brian Dunn (Abby), Michael Dunn, Ethan Dunn (Jessica), Zachary Fresenko (Madi), Mollianne Dunn (Daniel), Emily Fresenko, Samuel Hagestrom and Hana Hagestrom; four great grandchildren… Kaylee May, Evan May, Charlie Dunn and Lainey Dunn; niece Rachel Logier (Michael) and great nieces Elise and Emma Logier and so many dear family and friends.
