David Lee Royer

DAVID LEE ROYER, of Solon. June 30, 1948 – May 27, 2015.  David closed his twinkling blue eyes for the final time on Wednesday evening in the company of his family. Loyalty was David’s signature. This loyalty included dedication to his country, serving 20 years as a medevac pilot in the Army and retiring with the rank of Major, unwavering devotion to his wife Anita (nee Thomas) until her passing, and shameless love of McDonald’s coffee. In recent years, David put a smile on everyone’s face when he would dance whenever the opportunity presented at his retirement home. He was the loving father of Bryan (Kendra) of Toledo, and Daryl (Abby) of Twinsburg. He leaves behind his grandchildren, Maggie, Ella, Louis and Howie, who could put a smile on his face even on a bad day. He was preceded in death by his wife Anita, his parents Mildred (nee Barrows) and Howard L., and sister Janice. Services Monday June 1, 1PM at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON, where family will visit with friends FROM 10AM UNTIL TIME OF SERVICES MONDAY. Interment Roselawn Cemetery, Solon. Memorials may be made to the Fisher Center for Alzheimer’s Research Foundation.
