Harold E. Reight
Harold (“Harry”) E. Reight, 65, died January 11, 2017 at his home in Aurora, Ohio. Born in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania to Frank P. Reight, deceased, and Josephine L. Reight, deceased. He moved to Aurora, Ohio at a young age and was nearly a lifelong resident of Aurora, graduating from Aurora High School, where he played football as a defensive tackle. At the close of the 1969 season, he was named First Team All-Chagrin Valley Conference. At Aurora, Harry met his high school sweetheart and future wife, Susan M. (Moore) Reight.
For 35 years, Mr. Reight worked as a carpet installer to provide for his family. In addition to his work life, he volunteered his time as a Eucharistic minister for Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church in Aurora, for 25 years. He also volunteered for several years for the Aurora Jaycees, a national non-profit organization designed to build character and leadership skills through fellowship and interaction with the local community, eventually becoming President for a few of those years. For 14 years, he and his wife volunteered for Retrovaille, a non-profit and all volunteer ministry assisting struggling marriages and families.
He was an avid Cleveland sports fan.
He is survived by his loving wife, Susan M. (Moore) Reight, his children Frank Reight, Rachel Reight (husband Briand Harrod), Rebecca Abbott (husband Jason Abbott), and Heather Reight, his grandchildren Eliza Abbott, Everett Abbott, Holden Harrod, Griffin Abbott, Hadley Harrod, and Hudson Harrod, and his sister Bonita (“Bonnie”) Reight. Family will visit with friends at Steinbauer Funeral Home,
33375 Bainbridge Rd., Solon from 4-8 PM Sunday, January 15. Mass of Christian Burial Monday January 16, 10AM at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 342 S. Chillicothe Rd., Aurora. Interment Aurora Cemetery.
