Edward T. Kent

EDWARD T. KENT, age 88 of Solon, OH and Estero, FL, passed away peacefully on March 3, 2013 surrounded by his loving family after his courageous battle with illness. Devoted husband of 63 years to June (nee Bear); beloved father of Sally (Bill Osgood) Corwin-Osgood, Doug (Rosemary) Kent, Jim (Laura) Kent, and Betsy (Bill) O'Boyle; cherished grandfather of Erin (Kristel Smith) Corwin, Diana Kent, Jonathan Kent, Bridget Kent (Lucy Marquez), Christopher Kent, Virginia (Jason) Hudson, and Stephanie (Brandon) Fisher; loving great-grandfather of Elliot Corwin, Bridget and Lucy's baby-to-be, and Evan and Olivia Hudson. Proud Purple Heart Veteran with the Army 292 JASCO Unit and retired Ohio Bell pioneer. Our Dad was an Airstreamer, devoted family man, and loyal friend to many. He was preceded in death by his parents Jean (nee Hyde) and Edward C. Kent and his beloved brother Bob Kent. Services Tuesday March 5, 6:30PM at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON, where family will visit with friends FROM 2-6:30 PM PRIOR TO SERVICES. In lieu of flowers the family suggests donations to Hospice of the Western Reserve in honor of their amazing support and care. Interment with honors at Ohio Western Reserve National Cemetery, 10175 Rawiga Rd., Rittman, Ohio 44270, Wednesday at 1PM.


 

Anita Royer

Anita (née Thomas) Royer age 64, of Solon, Ohio died on February 26, 2013 at Walton Manor in Walton Hills. Born August 16, 1948 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late Dale Edward and Mary Ellen (née Schoch) Thomas and the sister of Marlene (Richard) Heering. She was married September 19, 1970 to David Lee Royer and was the mother of two sons, Bryan (Kendra) of Toledo, Ohio, and Daryl (Abby) of Twinsburg, Ohio. Grandmother of Maggie and Ella. Aunt to Kristin (Vaughn) Thompson and Matthew (Lindsay) Heering. Great-aunt to Ethan Thompson and Alyse and Thomas Heering. She graduated from Bowling Green State University with a BA in business where she majored in accounting. Although she was never in the military, she served indirectly as the wife of a career officer. They moved 20 times in 20 years, including to Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Germany, Ohio and New York. She was active in the Officer Wives Club, serving on the board as treasurer and was a founding member and volunteer of the Fort Drum Thrift Shop. Her main interest was genealogy and long before everything was so easily accessed on the computer she had traced her family back 15 generations with nothing but legwork and old fashioned research. She also worked on her high school (GHHS-66) reunion committee for the last 15 years, finding classmates and keeping the roster up to date. For a time she volunteered at the Solon Community Theater where she crewed and helped with set decoration and props. Other interests included bowling, computers, scrap booking, collecting and refinishing antiques, collecting Santas, sewing and crafts, gardening, and reading. The last few years she devoted much of her time caring for family members with Alzheimer's Disease. Services Saturday, March 2, 11AM at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON, where family will visit with friends FROM 6-8 PM FRIDAY EVENING, AND TWO HOURS PRIOR TO SERVICES SATURDAY. Memorials may be made to St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital.


 

Rick Grant

RICK (FREDERICK) WILLIAM GRANT; November 30, 1974 - February 24, 2013.  Beloved husband of Tracy (nee Westbrook); loving father of Brady William and Taylor Lauren; dear son of Lyndy (nee Rothaermel) and James W. Grant; son-in-law of the late Martha and Buddy Westbrook; cherished brother of Rob; adoring grandson of the late Ruth and Frederick William Rothaermel and Shirley and the late Clarence William Grant. Family will visit with friends at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE RD., SOLON, FROM 2-4 AND 6-8 PM WEDNESDAY FEBRUARY 27, where services will be held at 8PM. Julianne Vishnevsky

JULIANNE MARIE VISHNEVSKY, award winning writer and editing professional died suddenly on February 17. Born March 15, 1965.  Beloved wife of the late John Williams; cherished mother of Cassandra and Sebastian; dear daughter of Sylvia and Constantine ("Stan") Vishnevsky;  daughter-in-law of the late Earl and Athena Willliams; loving sister of Catherine Vishnevsky (Douglas Lowman); adoring aunt of Alec and Grace Lowman, Nick, Angela and Mike (deceased) Tirabassi. Memorial Services Tuesday, February 26, 11:00 AM at St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 2747 Fairmount Ave., Cleveland Heights.  Family will visit with friends at STEINBAUER FUNERAL HOME, 33375 BAINBRIDGE ROAD, SOLON, FROM 3-8 PM, MONDAY.  Memorials may be made to Hospice of the Western Reserve, where Julianne volunteered.

Beloved husband of the late Dolores (nee Eiermann); dear father of Patricia (Art) Zavarella, Richard Kay, and Sandra Kay; loving grandfather of Erik (Cristi) Zavarella, Joe Nowak, Kyle Nowak, and Richard T.
